which shocks for a manx!?

I'm just wondering if anyone can help me with which shocks i should use on a road going Manx

KYB makes a real nice shock in lowered, stock, or raised applications. Cheap too.!

My Manx came to me with KYB's in the front(Gas-a-Just, I believe), and some no-name chrome coilovers in the rear. When I decide on replacing the shocks in the future, I'll likely go with KYB's all around. The ride is pretty awful, between the short wheelbase and the shocks as it is. The coilovers do help when anyone rides in the back, but that's not too often(crap for legroom); they usually keep me in a 'serious positive camber' situation, and it wears out rear tires too easily.

Besides, I work in the parts business; I can get those KYB's for virtually pennies. Cool

I'd need more details on your front suspension(link pin or ball joint) before giving any kind of a solid price, but I can get KYB's GR-2 rear shocks for swingaxle for $20 each. Shipping from NY to the UK will vary by the weight, but the company I work for never tries to turn a profit on shipping at all.

Go with bilsteins better on and off than kyb. KYBs used to be good but not now.

its just everyone seems to think KYB's are the best, and i think I'm going to go for the KYB "gas-a-just"

Unless anyone else thinks Bilsteins are better?

Bilstein shocks are definitely a better quality option, but they are roughly twice the price of the KYBs. I like the KYBs personally, as they are a decent shock for not a lot of money. If I had more disposable income(and less 'irons in the fire'), I'd probably run Bilsteins; I don't, so I won't.

Yes monki I run bilsteins on my Baja and my 4x4. I`ve used kyb and they don`t take a beating like the steins. I think they are worth the extra dough cause they`ll last so much longer.

I'm sure the KYBs can't handle the level of abuse the Bilsteins can, but Lee said up front he's doing up his buggy for street use. The nearest my Manx gets to 'off road' is a fairground or show field......KYBs are fine for that one.
I'm considering Bilsteins for my next buggy, as it may see a little more serious use.

Sorry I didnt notice the road going part! I`m always thinking heavy offroad use. The kyb like you all have said will be fine for a streeter. But if I had a manx I`d be in sand dunes floggin it!!!
