I treated the floorpans in our Volvo, used a spray in bed liner to help prevent any future problems. I sharpened some wood dowels and lightly drove them in the holes for the seats and seat belts.

That's a good idea too. Thanks for the tip!

Deafen,
I followed the application procedures closely and it still peels and gets ripped a bit. You could always re-apply the stuff if/when this happens.

The cleaning of our cars is definitely different than cleaning a truck bed, which one can hose out with impunity.
I haven't hosed out a Thing interior, but if one did, one would probably need to pull out the front seats, cover the wiring under the dash and cover the battery and those connections.
I'm not sure how well the pan drains, but I would figure one would also have to soak up some of the water (with sponges or rags or whatever) that would pool up in various places as the water wouldn't run as well on the textured surface. And I figure one would have to use a brush to clean the surface, as a sponge would get ripped up.

The knuckle-scratching that I experience is due to the lining on the inside of the rocker area when reaching for the seatbelt or various items.

So I guess, overall, I'm not really convinced of the benefits of any textured lining in general, except maybe on the luggage area to stop things from shifting somewhat. Also, if one considers selling the Thing at some point in the future, others might not dig the lining.

Anyway, I've rambled long enough.
Hopefully you'll have better results than I did.
