So late april I'm shopping for a windshield seal.
My windshield is busted and I will need to replace the seal while the windshield is out. Browsing Ebay I find a Itlis parts supplier that has the seal at a decent price.
I think I get the seal for 50.00 and a set of wiper arms/connecting rod for 40.00
He wants 120 shipped, I hassle him a bit, I prefer actual shipping, don't you?
Finally I give in, he ain't budging.
Still a better deal than buying from a few other Thing suppliers.
Anyhow, a week and half goes by. I get the seal and wiper stuff. No problem.
A few days later, I get an email:
Hi:
We are in receipt of your payment. We will be sending you two sets of the wiper arms and the rod as per the auction.
Thank you for your business.
Regards,
Sung
I paid for 1 set as per the auction. I won't link. No mention of 2 sets.
I didn't respond, maybe that's a little snakey.
Week and a half later
Well today I get 2 full sets, that's 4 wiper arms and 2 connecting rods.
So now I have three complete sets of wiper arms and rods + seal
Now myself, I probably won't go the honest route and tell him he goofed. If he emails me for em well I won't lie.
What would you do? I know there are more honest people on here than I.
I know a few of you are into the Karma thing. Driving home today I kept thinking I'll probably crash and that's what I get.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

If it were me, I'd email the guy and let him know that he shipped you those parts twice, and offer to send them back to him at whatever rate he charged you to begin with. This way you should at least get back whatever you originally overpaid in shipping. You get your parts and end up paying fair shipping for them (with no negative kharma), and he learns a lesson. Of course, if he's a dick about it, then just keep the parts. |

I'm with ChinaRider on this one. There are too few businesses selling parts and making low margins - you don't really want to contribute to the failure of one of those businesses (well, TU aside).
However, if you feel an overriding need to not pay to ship a set of those wiper arms, I could probably see fit to helping you out with that |

I would sit on it for a few days and see. Things have their own way of working out. Maybe take a look at his seller feedback and see how he has treated others.
But I would probably contact him after the holiday weekend. But I think you might be already leaning toward returning them since you publicly posted this. After all, you might be buying from one of us someday! |

I'd be honest and let him know he sent you parts you didnt pay for. He'll never forget you. That's a good thing. |

+1 on ChinaRider's suggestion. Tell him he shipped twice, and that you'll return his merchandise for the exorbitant S&H that he charged.
Whatever you do, let us know. Moral dilemmas are such juicy gossip! |

Tell them about it, but as above, charge them a bit "extra" for shipping!!! _________________ --- The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at and repair.

I'd at least email him. Charging him his same shipping rate is a darn good idea. Of course if he doesn't respond, well then, all you can do is try. I mean if it was something cool like wiper blades, well then... but what are you going to do with a bunch of arms? |

OK Karma struck
Were even now.
Was parking my car, tapped a pole front right side of my bumper, tweaked it just a little. |

I once received a part won by a different bidder, I contacted the seller and he wanted me to return it. I offered instead to mail it to the intended buyer, the seller repaid my postage and doubled up my original purchase.
Years later I too mailed the wrong product to two different buyers. I paid both to forward them to respective homes. It felt too as karma had won. |
