...well, those vertical vents only came on the prototypes (1949...) , so they NEVER came in the real production that started in march 1950

Well, I think that was intended to be vertically made. Like the Squareback and Fastbacks their louvers are vertical also - so that it can scoop more air while moving. Just an opinion. Very Happy
