|
|
Hiya all,
My mirror mounts are located on the doors, but more often than not I drive with the doors removed. I found these window mounts here (http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=VWC%2D111%2D857%2D517%2DC), and I want to place them right forward of the door hinges, flush with the outer surface of the car. How would y'all go about doing this?
I really need mirrors when I drive, because I don't want to give the lame-o USAF base police anything else to write me up for. _________________ DAVE

The Thing Shop sells door hinges that allow you to move the mirror to the hinge. Makes for a very clean look. |

No-weld solution http://www.thethingshop.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=181MMSS, but more $.
I have read several times about the weak metal where the 74's mirrors were mounted, so you probably want to reinforce it while you weld the CIP mounts in place. Since there isn't access to the inside panel, all welding will have to take place from the outside.
