|
|
It is high time for the Type 3 Buffs to be informed and educated of the original Type 3 interiors of all year models. I, myself is new to Type 3 (although as early as 1980, I had been into vee-dubs), and I recently bought my first Type 3, a Fastback, in the mid of 2006. There are so many things to be learned on Type 3's, especially the original interior. This, of course, includes, the correct knobs, dome lights, steering wheels, trims, carpet, seats, etc.
There are so many expert on Type 3, like the the 1500 Club, Tram, Russ Wolfe, notchboy, and others, who can enlighten us on this side of the hobby. Please posts the pcitures of the original interior of Type 3 and other information. If possible we should include the color and its code. Thanks, in advance. _________________ '67 KG Cabrio (Mickey) ;

I think Dong is looking for photos of actual interiors. That table of colour options is dry like British comedy.
We want action! Especially that kickass plaid. And I want to see the rear seat of that Aqua square with orange velour.
Anyone remember the Orange square Maetin did with the leather steering wheel, shift-knob, dash and door inserts. That was SWEET!
Now, if that were 1979 MBZ Dark-Brown leather paired with that orange velour! WOOT! _________________

Click the little images next to the colours.
I support this thread though, especially if I can add more links to that page. _________________ How to: Post Photos | Search

Yeah, Chory, thanks. This is the purpose of the thread so that everyone can actually see the original interior of all year models of Type 3. Everyone will be educated. I have checked those charts available on the tech section, but posting the pictures there will even inform us more. Thanks a lot guys. _________________ '67 KG Cabrio (Mickey) ;

Just took these pictures from the "The 1500 Club" thread. When was this back seat for notchback with no arm rest introduced?
What about this big (or bigger) button for the globe compartment, what year was this used?

The no arm rest back seat is just an option used in some countries.
The big button glove box was used through the early 1963 models. _________________ How to: Post Photos | Search

When was the first pillage interior for Fasty introduced? Was it available on Notchback and Squareback and Type 34 KG too? Until when was this offered?
What about the teak interior. When was it introduced on the Type 3's. Was this avalable to all Type 3's? So also, until when was this offered? _________________ '67 KG Cabrio (Mickey) ;

It is all for 66...
So mid 65 til the end of the 66 model year, or half way though 1966. August to August.
EDIT: Or was it July? _________________
