I guess I am an idiot when it comes to confusers (I mean computers). Rolling Eyes

How do you "locate a photo on the Internet"? All I'd like to do is add a picture to a reply once in a while.

Is this a Apple Mac thing?? Mad

The pictures have to be located somewhere on the internet...as opposed to sitting on your hard drive. So upload your pics to the gallery here on thesamba, or put them on your website if you have one, or put them in an other online photo gallery...then they can be referenced / shown in your posts.

Photobucket is That type of FREE service to host images. Where as the samba's gallery uploads directly from your stored images off your computer.

Right? Think

When you quote someones post, you can see their source image. (some are protected by passwords.) The samba gallery becomes public domain.

Keep a wiki log @ a free hosting service like http://wikihost.org/. It will be kind of an online journal of your work and others can chime in. It is really pretty easy, unlike HTML, (web programming stuff). Then refer others to look @ your wiki site.

Here is about all there is to it-check it out!
Wikipedia:How to edit a page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:How_to_edit_a_page
I'm sure they have an easer help file @ the http://wikihost.org site.

When you post a image to your wiki its url can be referred to with the <img> tage here.

Of course they're nice people... they're me! Laughing

Anybody can make themselves any home page for themselves and/or their car and upload photos too. Unfortunately, because of the way photos display, they can't be linked here on The Samba.

To make a home page, just make up a new URL after veewiki.com. Go to that page (whose URL you just made up) and you'll find that it prompts you for a new page there.

So, Alsehendro, if you want your own page on veewiki, follow this link:
http://veewiki.com/Alsehendro
The click create page, or create it using the home page template link. It's pretty darned easy.

If you want more pages than just the one, make 'em up by adding a slash. For instance, I've got my home page as:
http://veewiki.com/IanEpperson
and my car's to do list is here:
http://veewiki.com/IanEpperson/ToDo
I've got a story about my car here:
http://veewiki.com/IanEpperson/Scrappy
I've got the story about my accident here:
http://veewik.com/IanEpperson/Accident
And I just made up this page for the hell of it by making up a URL and clicking "create"
http://veewiki.com/IanEpperson/ShowOff

As many as you want.

I've had it up and running for several years now. Feel free to use it.

Thanks Ian I probably will / did. I am SteveHenderson on owners page for your info. I'll put some actual content up later. So you can delete http://veewiki.com/Alsehendro if you want because I'll page link from OwnersGallery page with my real name.

I have lots off Wikis up an running on websites I maintain, but it will be nice to add my VW stuff to this community. I use CMS/Groupware, (whatever), called tkiwiki
http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Home
forum,blog,calandar,surveys--lots of other stuff included

Thanks
