Are the Rear Thing Seatbelts the same as the ones for bugs? Mine came with no belts or mounting bolts at all. Also, what mounting bolts will I need for the rear belts? the same bolts as the bugs use?
Thanks a lot

K-mann is always great for the hookup, but know that any US after-market seat belt kits should fit - I picked up a set from Kragen/Autozone years ago and I was surprised when it bolted right up. Those bolt holes are the only standard (non-metric) bolts on the Thing. If you crawl under the car and look over the transmission, you can see where they tacked in the different panel for the belt mounts.

I'm not completely sure, but I believe it to be so. I'd heard that some areas would only certify specific sized bolts for seat belt mounts - and they were standard sized bolts. So, VW (and, I assume, most other foreign car makers) had to use those sizes of bolts on all US models.

I got a pair of belts from my brothers pile of extra bug parts. The mounting bolts did turn out to be the same as the bug ones.
Thanks
