"you should be more specific"
I think most people are not stupid and know junk when they see it.
!!!!I also think some Porsche systems are reasonably good.!!!!

Maybe it's a good thing I made what you consider a egregious mistake because it may introduce someone to Jakes product Rolling Eyes

http://www.aircooledtechnology.com/store/product.php?productid=16133&cat=250&page=1

As far as Glenn goes he had the best answer to the original question.

I'm not too sure you read these forums on a regular basis, then...if folks knew junk when they saw it, the vw aftermarket would be nearly out of business and these forums would be real damn slow....

try this,it works:

Maybe, but I think the people that buy that crap are the ones that are not smart enough to use a VW forum or buying something to sell to some sucker for there car with a motor.

However you are probably right I should have qualified my comment to exclude this stuff. I did not originaly mean to suggest bolting on an EMPI product or compair one to a DTM. I always thought this was universaly known a junk. It was good of you and Glen to point this out.

+1,000,000 miles without ever having a thermostat on any air-cooled Volkswagen. Never any problems. Of course I have always live in temperate zones.

Also have worked in the VW industry since 1976 and have never seen one that actually worked. I'm sure they're good to have in colder climates, but who wants to live there? Laughing

Modern cars Have to have them, the EFI is preprogramed for the operation of a t-stat.

Use a heat gun or a hair dryer to see them work.
