Yes, actually according to my archives around 20 KdFs were sent to the Offices of Hermann Goring (Germany's Air Force). No other info is given. They were probably issued to top Officials and maybe even top Pilots. _________________ Feb 1944 KdF Type 82e.

Alex,
Did you know That VW Sended a car(Typ 60L) with LP IIIA-43012 to;
"DEUTSCHE ARBEITSFRONT" Munchen ???? (1938)
Do you know what I mean???
Von Pidoll maybe you can find that name in in your lists !
There was a car donated to a family member from the author (I think in 43)
I have to go to a Shop to scan the lists, my scanner is only A3 !
But I'll send the scans soon ! |

Only some were made there. there were many plants making them, including the one in the hollowed out mountain. _________________ If I am not out on the Indian, or in the garage, I'm back in Afghanistan.

Just a little note:
Mr Walter in Germany has one of every year Beetle from 1941 up to the last from Mexico. Seriously. So - what he often shows is the 42, but he also has a 44. Guaranteed. |

I have the impression that I´m not the only one that is very intressted in seeing the pictures. We have a similar museum in Sweden. But there it is only every year of type1 model from 1948 and up.
Hi Alex! It´s been a few years since we kept in touch! Nice to hear that you are making good progress in finding those impossible parts for you project.

You are correct Alex...........There are no known records that even suggest that Herman Goring owned that particular car. He did own a 1937 Mercedes 540K.

| About 10 years ago I offered Clause $200,00 for a restored kdf. He said I wasn't even close and that was ten years ago. I was offered another kdf about that same time period that you could see thru one door and out the other. The car came with almost no parts for $20,000 |

A few years ago I saw the Herman Göring car at Bruce's.
The story he told me is that the car was highjacked during the war. The guy that took it kept it for many years. If Herman Göring was cruzing around France and got highjacked (A.K.A. shot) I think the war would have ended sooner. The car was given to his office not to him directly.
I love the gloveboxes.
Tuck and Roll interior!
A detail shot of the front hood handle. Has anyone ever seen a cover on the lock like this before.

I believe I know of another '42 under restoration. It is not included in the list containing the '42s in this book.
Does anybody know how definitive and up-to-date this list is? |
