Is anyone into Willys? I ran across this while out on a job project. Don't know the asking price, but I have always loved them.

I had one back in the early 80's when I was
in high school. Mine had windows in the back
instead of solid panels like that one. One thing
about it, it would go anywhere.

My cousin and I were into Jeeps 20 years ago, mostly small ones. Old sedan deliverys like that one don't come around very often. I would look for rust and if there is significant amounts in the floors, etc. I would pass. Fenders and hoods are being repopped I believe, as are many of the smaller parts. A small block fits nice in there. Mechanical parts like axles, trannies, etc are still fairly easy to get, since they used the same basic parts for many years. Can't tell if it is 2 or 4 WD, but it is fairly easy to convert one way or the other, if you want. JMHO.YMMV, etc.

Had a 55 Willys wagon a few years ago. Won a couple of trophys with it and sold it. My intention was to paint it and use it off-road but it came out too pretty to scratch up.
The only piture I now have is this one as my first computer crashed with all my pics.

there is/was? a guy in the ramtown section of Howell NJ that was known as the Jeep or jeepster man. My buddy tried dealing w/ him. Heard he is a ornery old dude but he has everything for them. That is a not too common willys so you should hop on it if it is not too bad or pricey!

I remember reading somewhere about after WW2,the US gov't sold a lot of willies and 2 ton truck to the public for cheap. IIRC they were painted yellow or something before being sold.

I was driving around in rural Kansas a few months ago and spotted a yellow 2ton and a willies rotting in a field.

I've heard he's a real prick to deal with, and he's the only source for a ton of Jeepster parts.

An old friend of mine had one of these in the garage. He referred to it as his "Dad's parade car". It looked to be in really nice shape, but covered in dust as it hadn't been touched since his old man died.

His was the only one I've ever seen.

My old room mate from the 80's is/was the President of the Int'l Jeepster Club..
His name is Jim Serr, and he now lives in Lincoln, CA, and his e-mail is

[email protected]

He doesn't deal with anything but the jeepsters now, but he has been a Jeep guy for 45 years that I know of....
My old neighbor in SoCal has a Jeep Panel like the one in the photos... but his now has a Malibu front IFS, rack and pinion steering, Tubbed rear and Currie narrowed 9 inch, and a Ford 460 bored and stroked to 5 hundred and something cubic inches... no photos, sorry
