Just got a towbar from Jeremy. He ships fast, provides a tracking #, and the bar is nice!. ..No worries buying from him.

SV2S bus club bought one that comes apart. i used 2 tow bars not made by him (1 borrowed from hot dog fred,1 borrowed from Joe Flare) they were not stable above 45 mph- towed my 65 bus with pyrOman's jeep. used a jeremyrockjock tow bar for 3rd tow and it was stable at 65+ mph on I-5 from past the check point all the way to san diego. the SV2S bus club (www.sv2s.com ) bought 1 of his because of this experience. i would recommend his tow bar over any others. I gotta tell you. I was skeptical when I first heard of towbars for buses. I envisioned cheap poorly made import crap, breaking on me at 70. Then I found Jeremy, and read this entire thread. I thought, if all these people like him, he can't be bad, and I ordered one.
His communication is awsome, and this thing shipped out fast. I told him when I needed it, and he got it here. I admit, right up to the time I hooked it up today, I still had my doubts. All my buddies with me were heckling the crap out of me about how it looked too short, too narrow, too small, but once it went on, all mouths fell silent. It fit like a dream on the '70 I drug home today. I mean snapped right on, and never moved, even when I backed up the bus with it or at nearly 70mph all the way home (75 miles). Jeremy even sends the pins you need to clamp the bar on. I liked not having to get them out of my bug bar to use.
Now my friends want to borrow it, and I just told them to buy their own. If you are thinking about getting one, do it. Best freaking $200 I ever spent, hands down. Great guy, great product.

| Thanks Jeremy for one fantastic piece of hardware. My 69 pickup had to get moved and my old VW towbar was stolen a long time ago. I ordered this back in early April and it was delivered to my door in 4 days. Worked like a dream. I've been around VWs for over 30 years and this guy is a fine example of why I've never stopped liking these cars. Also, thanks to this website for having people like Jeremy here. You've got another loyal fan, Samba man. I'll be buying AND selling stuff HERE. Count on it !!! Sincerely, Gene McCarron, Gambrills, MD. |

Jeremy,
Will the collapsable bar fit in a Single Cab Treasure chest? |

I just got my new tow bar collapse style.
Two questions:
Backing up in anything other than a straight line seems out of the question as the wheels were just scrubbing sideways. Would it work if someone was in the bus turning the wheels or would that still not work?
Also i was thinking of some how leaving the non hitch sided of the tow bar perm installed by hooking u brackets in. Has anyone done something like this? Pics, problems with driving the bus with this in place? The idea was that i would only have to find a place to store the shortened hitch side somewhere in the bus. |

| I bought one of the collapsible tow bars, and couldn't be more happy with the overall product. I towed my '71 Westy over 1100 miles behind a U-Haul, and when I made the return trip without the U-Haul, I simply left it attached to the bus, and hung it up to the frame rails via the towing chains. It worked flawlessly! The only thing I had to do to hook it up was to remove one grease zerk near the brake booster. Worth every dollar! Joe Martin |

Had some issues in FLA at Bulli Brigade with my bus. I brought my tow bar just in case. Hooked my bus to a Uhaul and towed it 850+ miles at 75-80mph not 1 problem. The tow bars are great. _________________ Bug Haus

I just bought a tow bar from Jeremy and I'm very impressed with it. It is great quality and he got it made and shipped out to me fast. I can't wait to use it. I'd recommend one to everyone. _________________ Check out my Westy resto. thread.
