I am looking at getting the solid style Centerline rims for my 1971 super beetle. It is at stock height. I would like to get 5.5" rims and use the same size tires at all four corners. What is the largest size I can get with that combination with no rubbing or interference problems? |

No one has any ideas on this? If not specific to Centerlines, what is the largest 15-5.5" wheel/tire combo that will go under the car at stock height. Also, I do not see a lot of info on the Centerline rims on the forum. Are they not good for street use? Please advise, this will be an expensive purchase. |

I say tire size would be 165/r15. I have seen many SB with stock wheels with 165/r15 on all 4 corners. But it also depends on the offest of the wheels. I mostly see people use the old school tire combo of 145/r15 up front and 165/r15 in the rear with centerline wheels. |

You must not be on the big island. it's 135's on bubble offset fronts and and the narrowest, lowest profile tire they can stretch over a 7 or 8 inch rear. _________________ 1959 Ragtop Beetle - sold

Alot of people do that on Maui too, the 135's on Centerline 15x3-1/2 bubble offset wheels are common here. Along with the 205/50R15 stretched on the 15x7inch Centerlines. I usually have the 125's on my bubble offset wheels and a set of 225/60R15 on my 7in wide Centerlines. |

I ran 205-60's on my 73 SB with only minor rub issues, I'd say 195-60's would be a good bet. _________________ Southside Buggistas VW & kit car club
