Has anyone converted their full width rear Kombi seat to a rock and roll bed using rock and roll hinges?
How easy was it to do?
Does anyone have any pictures?
Cheers.

Z products [in the USA] made a kit to do this. It was called a Z bed. No linger made.
Use the search feature and look for Z bed. |

Yeah I know all about that conversion.
That's not what I'm asking though. |

I think thats what he means.
personally, id try and find a camper at a junkyard and pull the parts from it instead, so you have something a little more stock and a better idea of how it all goes together.
though I guess it depends on how handy you are. if your a whiz at woodwork and math, you may as well get the new hunges and build your own setup. |

Rock and roll hinges as above...
Rock and roll bed...
Except I want to use the original seat, like on Z hinges, but with rock and roll hinges.

i have these hinges on my bus and its pretty easy to do.
it folds out into a full bed that matches up to the back pad that sits on the engine hatch.
what i did was make all new patterns of the original so i could take the compartment lid off.
then i re wraped it vinyl and layed on the hinges.
its awesome |

Lets remember that in the UK products offered are a little different than in the USA! I would go for it. you will just have to make a cusion for the rest of the rear. |
