What do you mean sway bar? Sway bars are on stock vehicles and if you build a Baja You usually want to remove it cuz it does no good on an offroad vehicle.

Who says they are no go for a off road vehicle! Maybe not for rock running, but they do come in handy for mud(if you don't run in it you wouldn't understand) high speed dirt running any time you tend to go fast off road and your are not just going straight.I have them on all my off road trucks, even my trail running Samurai!

Just out of curiosity, what exactly do think the advantage to running a sway bar on your bug in the mud does? I run mine in mud now and again, and I really don't see what the advantage would be, unless of course you like having one more thing added onto the front that limits independent suspension movement, lowers overall ground clearence, and collects more mud onto the vehicle.

By mud you must mean wet dirt.I mean axle deep mud,and my front sway bar is almost 12 inches off the ground on my class 11 bug.I have found that at higher speeds in the mud(about 15 to 20 mph)the sway bay really does what it was intended to do;it does away with body roll so that I can almost turn it.If I take it off,the body will sometimes rub on the tire in full turn. With it on I have no problems!

hardly,I mean sticky (go in with clean lugged "super swapmer" tires and and come out looking like a set of drag slicks) ,sometimes bottomles pit, get your boot stuck and you leave it cause its not coming out-mud! I really do not seem to have any problems that you encounter. My car (with very agressive treaded tires goes pretty much wherever I point it (different story with just LT's on the front). mine is also a cut Baja with no clearence issues and I run a wide tire on a wide rim in the rear.

Take your sway bar off, and cut it into 2 pieces, insert them into your tie rods. This will make your tie rods stronger. The only time I ever went offroad with a sway bar it got bent back and rubbed against my beam, not cool.
