I am looking for some advice please (I have looked at all the info on Bric-Yard etc but it is still not clear to me).

Type 25 Caravelle (Not Syncro) - Vanagon in US.

Currently stock meaning:-

Lowered 20mm from factory, 5.5J, 14inch ET 39 Steel Wheels on 185/80/14 stock tyres.

I want to fit Porsche Boxter 7J rims x 17" ET 55 all round (Simply want to keep all 4 wheels same size for interchangeability)with Porsche 20mm Adapters lowering the ET to 35 complete with 225/45/17 load rated tyres.

How do I fit the adapters to the rear and front hubs, do I need longer bolts or studs, do I fit studs all round so it makes it easier to replace wheels, do I need longer bolts or studs, do I need a special tool to tighten up the bolts for the adpters to the hubs.

Some people say the 7J on the rear with 20mm spacer would look "Lost" under the arch but I can't understand that if the originals wre 5.5J and thinner than what I am going to fit?

Any advice that gives the full picture would be most wellcome.

Thanks

Loogy's got a "sticky" in the Vanagon Forum. Post up the question there.
