There is a place in Canada that is easier on cars than the west coast. Kamloops. We are a semi desert here and officially the warmest, driest place in Canada. Even the wrecks in the junkyards aren't rusty.
I was driving a '73 that I assembled from boxes and boxes my wife carted home in 2002 with a rolling body. It still runs but needs bodywork.
My first car was a '65 bug in '70 when I was 16. My wife thought I needed a hobby.
Now I have a really solid '71 Super with only 66,000 original miles. Bought it from a grandmother. Completely stock. Gas heater, block heater and great stock heat. Only thing wrong is the rear defrost doesn't work. I have the original Continental spare tire. Original regulator etc. Motor has never been out. Needs paint though. PO did a quiky paint job.

Hi all, well the car is now home, just dig this car. I went to John's Bug Shop on Saturday and pick up the rest of the parts to finish the 62 and hope to have it back on the road in May. Here are some pic's of the 56 and 62. Take care.

Do you have pics of the John's Bugs event?
I've wanted to go for years but never have. |

'Supose I should chime in here. I'm in Calgary, proud owner of a *few* ACVW's and a couple of waterpumpers. My first was my '73 Super that I purchased in '88. It is my main focus and nearing the end of a complete restoration. After this, I am going to focus on my '71 Doublecab that I managed to get my sticky fingers on before Christmas. It was nearly complete, only missing the air cleaner housing and the apron. I have the air cleaner, need the apron and would like to find a solid set of side gates. Mine are there but in bad shape. I guess it is better that they are there than not at all! _________________ '73 Super Beetle w/ all the Sport Bug extras

My first car as student was a 75 beetle that I bought in 78 and still have it!
Learn to drive on my father's knees in a brand new 63 mouse grey bug...presenty own too much project but...winter are long here so there is hope! More than 5 meter of snow this winter (that's 15 feet and a couple of inchesof snow). Still unable to get the 2002 Westy out of the garage on April 24th 2008 due to snow bank in front of the door....Missing my syncro crewcab!!!!

I suppose it's time I dive in here...
I'm in Squamish B.C., halfway between Whistler and Vancouver. I've got a '75 deluxe in storage, and this is my '69 daily driver:

Thanks!
I'm planning on heading down, but I coach mountain biking and this week is Crankworx in Whistler. Not exactly the ideal time to be missing a day!
Will definitely try though.

You're right, the event webpage doesn't indicate the start/finish times. It's usually 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, or thereabouts... _________________ Neil.
