Can anyone tell me? I'm not a porsche guy as of yet, but noticed they are 15" rims & the white/rust wheel is dated 9/69 with the KPZ stamp, telling me it's porsche, but the other 2 have VW stamps. All 3 look the same to me except for the stamp Confused

Hard to tell from the angle. My guess is they are not.

Type III or '66/'67 bug wheels? Can't remember.

They look like 66-67 Beetle wheels to me.

356 wheels have holes in between each lug hole, right?

A larger photo or a close up of each wheel would make it easier to identify then.

I can't explain the '69 date stamp, unless it's a later dealer replacement.

Are they 15x4? The size should be stamped on the face somewhere.

The white one also looks to have a circled VW stamp at the 11o clock in the first picture.

Yeah, all 3 are 4Jx15 Everett & here are some other marks:
This is on the KPZ wheel dated 9/69

This is on the black VW stamped wheel:

& I noticed the lip on these 3 wheels is smoothed out(see first pic) unlike earlier bug wheels(see second pic), is that normal for 66/67 bug wheels, I never really paid attention, Thanks

I also noted that lip, but the slots are for porsche,,, also it maybe sanding marks, but on the white one it looks as if the center has a slight raise to it

I just went out and looked at my wheels... The porsche wheels ( 9/56) have a full lip .. the vw wheels have the lip cut off ..

Just another thought, a 69 Porsche has the small 5 on 130 bolt circle, not wide 5 on 205. So VW or Porsche it must be a replacement part.

they are quite different to 356 wheels ,i have about 15 356 rims here from the mid 50's through to early 60's and there are a few differences my guess is they are the euro bug option from the late 60's .the holes are a differnt shape ,the offset is different the centre is more pronounced on these than the 356 rims too cheers chris

I have a 66 beetle, which as a uk car is euro spec I guess and has the wide 5 vented wheels as standard. My 66 vented wheels I believe have a hole to allow for drum brake adjustment, which the ones in the pic dont have. Also, at least one of those pics shows hub cap clips which my car never had as it had the first flat hub caps which didnt use clips.

I personally believe that these wheels are south american or south african, from a bus (with round earlier hub caps which require the clips). South American buses, such as Fleetlines and those wierd 15 window bays still had parts of split body shells for years after 67, and I always thought they were parts bin specials, so anything could have been included, including these wheels?

Why they would end up in the states, Im not sure, but if someone thought they were porsche wheels, and worth a bit, they could realistically have paid for postage from abroad for them.

Does this make any sense?

Si.

On the Porsche wheels, the slots have a slightly different shape than the beetle 66-67 wheels. Beetle are a long oval while the porsche had more of a elongated D shaped slot.
