Will 145/65/15's fit on some Chromie rims? I need some shorter tires as Im running 165's on a lowered Beetle and I rub everything.

EW dont do that.. not on a beetle... Get 165-45s they look so much better.. on a beetle with 145-65s your pan head can be on the ground and there will be wheel gap at the top of the wheel

you've got it backwards. 165/45 is lower profile than 145/65. 165/45s are hideous. they work to get busses down, but agreed they need to stay off bugs.

yep ivsamhell has it right 165/45/15 is the WORST choice for a type1. in fact i think they aren't really all that great for type2s either. if you set up your suspension with tire size in mind to begin with you can get many better choices than either of the two mentioned above. 175/55/15 and 185/55/15 are two that top my list. the 175/55 is about the same overall diameter as a 125r15 and the 185/55 is between a 125 and 135. couple either of those with a 195/65/15 for the rear and you've got a set up that lets you get as low as you want but hav e much better footprint on the road...ken....
