| I was wondering how many of you actually use your bus as a daily driver, I dont mean "i take her out most days on short errands" I mean the bus is your primary source of transportation to and from work and other errands and its only not used when its off the road for a repair. I drive my bus about 30 miles to work each day for a 60 mile round trip. I also take it back and forth to college which is about 120 miles. How many of you use your bus as primary transportation? |

<---- My daily driver, I drive her all over, put about 1500mi on it in the last 2 weeks alone but that is kind of out of the ordinary.
As long as you are all over the maintenance, it is no problem. I carry AAA just in case though _________________ '71 9 Passenger Transporter "Betsy" | Restore Thread | 9 Passenger Info

My two VW's are my daily drivers. I drive 30 miles to work - from 6100 ft elevation to 4500 and back up again at the end of the day. I DO have a modern - but I save it for the trips to Tucson when it's 110 outside.
I drive the beetle more often than the bus though just can't beat 34mpg _________________ Ryan

| I parked my F-150 out back a couple years ago, although I usually drive it at least once a month hauling something large or dragging home more VW's/stuff. Lately I've been driving the Bus every day but sometimes I switch it up with the Bug. I'm grateful with gas the way it is my round trip for work is about 5 miles and my wife works at home. |

Mine is my daily driver. Drive about 15-20 miles a day for work and errands together. It's all downhill on the way to work, so i can coast a significant about of it if i hit the lights right. And when i come home it's 2am so all the lights are green anyways even if it is uphill... _________________ 1972 Deluxe named Lucidity

All three of mine are daily drivers. When you have that many you don't need a normal car, when one breaks down you've got a couple back ups.
And yes I drive mine in the winter too. Why not you only live once. I'll be spending as much time as possible behind the over sized wheel. It makes me happy _________________ Rachel ~ 72 Deluxe

Presently the Westy is my daily and the Kombi is down to surf and lumberyard duty only as its engine dies (valves stretching or receding--will know which soon). Motor kit is ordered and soon the Kombi will be the daily again and the Westy will be for out of town use only. _________________ 78 Champagne

I never bought my bus with the intention of it being my daily driver but now that I have it, I find I drive it the most. Even with the sun out and the beetle convertible and the MGB being drop-tops, I always seem to climb behind the wheel of the bus when I have some where to go. I'm sure when it starts getting over 100 degrees I will go back the to the GTI but who knows... _________________ Current VW's:
