Smoothie question

Hello,

I just bought a set of og smoothies that measure 16 inches across. They also say "4 JX15". What year car did these come off? The 15" must mean 15in across, but they measure 16inches. is this common? Also what size tires can i fit on them with a 56 bug dropped 4.5 inches with a 3 inch narrowed bj beam?

16 inches is right. Actually it should be slightly taller than that even. That's not where you measure it - you need to measure to the where the sidewall/bead of the tire meets the rim, that's the diameter.

That 4Jx15 stamped size was correct. By the way, VW 16 inch rims, those were only like 3 inches wide.

They look wider than 3 inches. The tires on them now are 165s. 3 inches would make them pretty damn narrow.

Believe the 4Jx15 stamp! I've never measured one but I'm sure a 16 inch rim would measure around 17" total diameter.
