Hi just wondering what heads to go with on my engine that i'm rebuilding? I currently have a set of 94mm piston/cyl. set ,engle 120 cam and a pair of kadron dual carb set up. Also what type of HP will this make and i do believe this will be a 1915cc? If someone can share some info that would be great. Thx

He did give you a rough estimate. Unfortunately there is no way to give you much better / more accurate answer in respect to your particular engine because you haven't listed specific details about your combo. Engine displacement doesn't dictate HP or TQ & it's not as simple as "xyz" heads & cam = "xyz" hp. There are NUMEROUS variables to consider. Figuring out 1/4 mile times is even more complicated because you also have to factor in the gear ratios, tire size & tread, weight of the car, how well the suspension works & driver experience or error. What his car does has nothing to do with what your car can or will do.

its the same damn motor, just people either round down, or round up when calculating the displacement

90 HP

Your limiting factor will be the dual Kadrons. I would not bother with anything more then stock valve heads with a good fluff & buff.

69 X 94 = 1915.383cc I have no clue why people call them 1914cc

im in the build of a very similar motor, looking to build a turbo motor. 69x94 crank with o44 heads with 40mm intakes and 35.5 exhaust, but i dont know what kind of cam to use. As of right now im looking at running the 40 IDFs that i have on a blow through set up. and im thinking about using a AS2 with an external waist gate. 8lbs on the street only looking for like 200hp.

Different figures for pi.

94 x 94 x 69 / 1000 x 3.14 = 1914.41

94 x 94 x 69 / 1000 x 3.14159 = 1915.38

I would love to see how people get 1916 Rolling Eyes .

Btw, 90.5 x 90.5 x 69 /1000 x pi = 1775.4 How are people getting 1776?

I had the same cam in my 1915, with IDF's, heads ported, 138hp. Ditch the kads and don't cheap out on the heads or you'll be wasting your time.

why not a bigger displacement? if your going to take the time to build a larger engine, build THE large engine. 2110-2332

Yeah the weber idf's will work better for the 1915. The Kadrons will work great on a stock engine.

My DRD 1915 longblock has L5 heads (40 x 35.5), and a 120 cam with my 40 Dells on top. Those recommendations came straight from Darren. Based solely on that, I would say that IDFs would be better for you.

Not Hijacking, but I am putting together a 1915 in a couple weeks (ya know, I have been saying that for 6 months now) - anyway - stock cam. 1.4 rocker - moderate porting on heads, 1 5/8 header - for a street car. Are you saying the Kads wont flow enough? Once again - The engine will probably never see more than 4500 RPM..... Thanks

Stock valves = 1 3/8" header
40 x 35.5 valves = 1 1/2" header
42 x 37.5 valves = 1 5/8" header

My car weighs 1890 with me in it(1695 without). Ran a 15.3@86mph

Calculator says 99.9 hp.

8:1, 110 cam, 1.25 rockers, 043 40x35.5 barely ported(cleaned up), Empi 44s, aluminum crank pulley, 1 5/8 merged header with 2.5" magnaflow muffler...

It was a pretty mild build as it was intended for turbo, but it'll give you an idea anyway...

I also have the same question. I'm building a 1915(someone building that for me actually). Carbs will be weber 44. The heads is 44 x 37.5 How much will this affect hp ?
The cam is engle. It doesn't have 120 or 110 those type of number, it says 'tsc' something but it does look pretty tall.

Is our stock tranny ok for the increase hp?
