Check out this ad 180305493722
Ad says it is a 55 model, but looking at the inside I think it is a little earlier than that. |

I wouldn't on the off chance he goes crazy and start thinking it's worth a mint for some reason and kills the auction. Let the bidders decide. _________________ How to: Post Photos | Search

i just got off the phone with the person selling the SC and i got a bit of the back story. it was pulled out of a farmer's field last week. he had no idea that it was valuable. i don't think he would pull the auction even if he did get an inkling, it's all gravy for him now anyways. he's already tickled with a thousand bucks for it.
he took the gates off the bus to use on a project '65 SC. i asked him to please please please let the gates stay with the truck. i will go and have a look at the bus in person, it is close to me, a little over an hour away. _________________ scott lyons

I believe it's minor, mostly because of the 3rd rubber stopper in the center of the gate.
The rear gate is different for a similar reason - no rubber stoppers up high but I think it's the same as later non-BD gates that don't have stoppers either (all ribbed bumper trucks?). _________________ How to: Post Photos | Search

It looks like this one has smooth gates according to the latest pictures he posted.
Were smooth gates still offered in August? I thought they were nixed earlyer in 53. |

Ended at $6,453.53.
It was still at $2,500 until the last minute or so. _________________ How to: Post Photos | Search

I hate it when people bid at the last minute! That thing will take almost that much money in parts and untold hours in labor, I still kind of envy them though. I hope the buyer starts a build thread on it, of course that's probably never going to happen _________________ Check my classifieds for kewl gauges:
