why?
yes it will take a considerable amount of time and money to "save" it, but 6400 is not a bad start for a smooth gate single cab. Barndoors dont pop up every day. Gotta pay to play. _________________ SK692A

Ended at $6,453.53.
It was still at $2,500 until the last minute or so. |
I was watching it too. I hit refresh every 20 seconds and it just kept jumping! I liked the $2500 price better. _________________ ---

US $6,353.53
Jeez, what kinda bid is that. Really.
(Yeah, I was bid out, but honestly that's exactly what I wanted to bid considering how much shipping etc would cost. And I live IN Canada).
Good luck to whoever won it, hopefully it's back on the road and not in some dudes garage for 10 years. (I call it the 356 syndrome, there's alot of dead 356's sitting in old guys' garages, just so the dudes can say, 'I OWN A 356!').
Your car, your money, but I would rather get mine on the road or onto the next owner. _________________ Reading skill increased by +1 |

Bet he is stoked with what it went for if he was happy with $1k. I think he can afford to get some good gates for his 65 now!
Looks like the original Bus in this thread did not sell. Maybe if he had posted more than two pictures?? Wondering what the front looked like or if it had any other useable parts. Surprised someone didn't get just for wall art (or the vin #), especially at that price! _________________ 2003 Golf TDI (mileage whore)

My eBay spy tells me it's coming to the USA.
I hope the winner knows what it costs to ship from Canada to the USA... Maybe he's planning to pick it up.
The seller has got to be super happy right now with that money. He probably paid like $100 for it. _________________ How to: Post Photos | Search

^ Especially since it's a non-runner. Shipping to my city from Backwoods, ON is $1100.
Cross border shipping (tax/duty/brokerage) and Anyplace, USA is going to be ouch! At least he can declare the value at around $100 _________________ Reading skill increased by +1 |

NOT A GOOD IDEA! It sold on Ebay, listing had the VIN, closing price is public record. The winning bidder needs to be bite the bullet and honest about the purchase price or they risk a world of complications during import.
If the winning bidder is going to pick it up and is looking for info on "the return crossing" feel free to drop me a PM, I have done it a couple of times. _________________ ____________________

me too, its not the easiest thing in the world.
I know a guy who tried to declare a much lower value on an ebay purchase...the border patrol looked it up online and found out he was lying 4 grand. Lets just say that did not go over well.

From the bid history it looks like there was an artificial premium of $1,500+ put on the truck with the involvement the zero feedback bidder. The $6,353.53 bid from a newbie just doesn't seem like a legitimate bid.
