Does anyone know what order the bits and pieces to attach the fan back to the alternator is? Anyone recently get a new alternator and have to take theirs apart and put everything on the new one? Or does anyone have a link that I can see to see what order everything goes in? |

|

I'm assembling a totally new alternator/fan/tin setup and the diagram above was very helpful, thanks! One question though, Bently manual says to add .5 mm of shims to provide 2 mm of clearance between fan and fan cover. Well, .5 mm of shims provided me with about 4.5 mm of clearance between the fan and housing. Any thoughts on this? Does it really need that tight a fit? Did I do something wrong? I got it as parallel as possible between the fan and the housing and spun the fan then took measurements at several places. I hate to put it all back together and have something rub (like on the back side).
Thanks, Patrick. _________________ Patrick.
