Anybody know which way the arrow on an anti pulse valve should face, toward the distributor or toward the carb?? |

Close, but you need to insert the URL that ends in JPG between those 2 bracketed areas. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Well that's the crazyest thing I've seen today, not a VW part, some sort of gas saving technology robbed from aliens perhaps?
I'd remove it.
Sure it's an advance line and not a fuel line? maybe a check valve? _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

concur - if it is between the dist port on the carb and the dist remove it. That is not a VW part. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

It's actually a new aftermarket part called an antipulse valve it is manufactured by Europro over in the UK. I know what it is I bought it, I was just wondering if anybody has played with 'em. I've set up and rejetted dual Webber ICT's for my baywindow. It is purring away now just fine after a bit of experimentation. I've had a few ICT bus people recomend the anti-pulse valve to give a extra smooth ride, it works to even out the the vacume signal to a vacume advance when the signal begins right off of idle and also when it ends at about half throttle. Turn's out the arrow should face the carb (the direction of vacume), although can't say the improvement is major, only barely noticable. And yes that is a fuel line being used as a vacume hose, what ya gona do the Webber ICT vac port is huge...... thanks Merlin missed your post before writting most of this jibberish, ya hit the nail on the head. |

Decades ago many cars used 1/8 OD metal tubing for the vacuum advance line. Pretty tiny inside diameter. I suspect it preformed pretty much the same function except that it wasn't directional in anyway. I presume that the anti pulse valve is some kind of a metered check valve that will dump vacuum quickly if you punch thereby killing the vacuum advance and preventing knocking. |

I'm preparing to install a CS in my 72 with dual Webers. The requirement dictate from Jake is: vacuum must come from both carburetors to obtain the proper vac signature for the 205p. The early Spanish Weber pair that I got from ACE only has one carrying the vac port, so Jake requires that a simple can that provides a void (empty can) be adapted to the units for the proper advance without the pulsing. I think this may be the application for this valve. _________________ '65 Beetle "Lil' Lulu"- Ruby Red
