OK guys I have searched and searched cannot find a good link of (how to rebuild a vw alternator). Can you please direct me in the right direction, I pulled a swap meet alternator apart to glass-bead. Now what? Where can I get new brushes and stuff? What is the best way to put it back together. It was previously rebuilt at one time. Links would be greatly appreciated Very Happy
Cheers, Rodger

Thanks for the reply I have it apart already btw I have read that one of the bearings is the same as an idler bearing for a domestic? Lets see what the rest of you have done when you wanted a fresh look instead of a dirty old unit. Cheers, Rodger

Hey guys if we build motors we should be able to rebuild little wimpy alternators. Help me out: what are the part numbers, where do we get them, and how do we put the alternator back together? I know this isn't as much fun as telling how everyone else is doing stuff wrong. I read and read how bad the "schucks I wish I hadn't of auto stores are" So help me to help myself please. Crying or Very sad
Sincerely, Rodger
