PostPosted: Tue Sep 08, 2009 6:48 pm    Post subject: Baja bug rear fenders? Reply with quote

Here's a quick question........I have see many "newer" baja bugs with high rise rear fenders. Are these the ones that Mark V sells for around $120.00 a pair? I have been searching all forums for this question. I have seen the high fenders for sale from Dubbers toy box that mount to the original bolt holes. I understand the Mark V mount above the bolt holes. I have an "old school" 64 baja that I am trying to run 31" tires on. The 235/75's on the car now rub on compression. I do not want to cut the fenders because they are in good condition and may sell / trade down the road. Can any one help?? Thanks?

I am using the Mark V fenders on my baja and really like them. They mount above the stock fenders. I used blind fasteners called Carsets and you can stand on them with no distortion.

I bought these about 10 years ago. They are the same shape as what Dubber's Toy Box selles today.

I like how well they hold tools!

Do you know how much Dubbers get for them?

I have used a piece of .063 aluminum that I shaped and mounted. Very cheap and super easy to make. I think I have about 8 bucks total in them.

In my furious search, I have seen that CB performance sells some aluminum rear high rise fenders for $89.95. Has anyone purchased these and can you provide photos? Do they look good and was installation easy??
Thanks for the great input.
