Many of you may remember "The Hubcap" that traveled around the bus community for many years, especially east of the Mississippi. I have not heard where it may have made it to, but what fun it was to go through all the stuff it came with.
For those that don't remember, it was a chrome VW hubcap that was eventually mounted in a world globe frame and was passed along from bus owner to owner, over the years it also gathered a trunk full of stuff donated by previous torch carriers. The archive.org site does have a bit about it. Anyone know what happened to it?

I thought the person that had it wasn't letting go of it. They are discussing it on the type2 list. _________________ I don't mind eccentric people i just don't care for shit heads.

I believe there's a little confusion as to the exact location, current "custodian", and status of the hubcap, so I think this post is trying to perhaps gain information, find people that may have seen it and not thought about it, motivate those who may be able to help it get back on its way, etc...
Perhaps one of the talented photoshoppers can add it to a "have you seen me" milk carton picture to help get the word out...

So the last recorded hand off was at a VW show in Tulsa. Anybody from that area remember it? _________________ <---Air Cooled Search & Rescue Team - STICKERS & Tshirts for sale!
