take this as i meen it,
but most that do that kind of mod have the ability to fab or modify the mounts themselves.
your just gonna have to get a lot of ideas and pick something
that you can handle.

if you need your hand held, then this sort of mod may not be for you, most are hand built and home made designed.

Go to your local hot rod shop they have really easy kits that are used to shave hinges on the old cars. you would be amazed with all the stuff that cross over from early hot rods to custom VW stuff drop me a line if you need help.

I'd have to kill you. Twisted Evil Just going to throw out a suggestion: Why don't you try going to a junkyard, and see if you can find a door: with a lock, and the hinge. That way you can try playing around a bit, and not worry about damaging your car. Just 2 cents.

http://www.thehoffmangroup.com/autoloc/suicideconfigure.lasso?step=hinges

The kit i used is the "better" kit.

A few leasons learned:

If you ride already has a good paint job, get ready to repaint.

Found tacking the doors to the body after making a few cuts helps to get everything in the right place.

Mount the hinges as far forward and out as possible. This will reduce any metal in the door wheather strip channel from being removed.

Get good latches. Bear claw minis are worth every penny. And get the mounting kit.

Mount the latch up near the where the top factory hinge was. Got to move mine up cuz the top of the door wants open up at high speeds.

Measure twice, cut once. No, wait, make that three...no four times.

You can try using the factory exterior handles, but have fun with that. Save yourself some time and go keyless. I don't have door handle inside or out. Funny as hell watching people try to figure out how to get out.

And locktite the hell out of the screws in the plates once you get everything nailed down.

Other than that, take your time, and have a beer. The finished result is nice and getting in and out is way easier now.
