I've got an idea. We all know what the old farts ideas on old VW styling and perfomance are, so lets see what us younger guys prefer Cool

me, I like good running daily drivers, 1776-1935cc's, dual Kadrons, cars that you get to see everyday. I like them to look fairly stock with a few personal touches. As far as the years go I'm kinda particular to 65-66's. Razz

I'm really not very particular in my tastes. I don't like anything that is overdone, and when there are too many modern technological additions added to the car, it just doesn't look right. It's a 40 something year old car, not a new one. I like cars that could be driven everyday, without issues. I really like patina, and unrestored cars in general. That probably has something to do with the condition of my car Smile Engines...same as above. Something that could be driven daily without requiring a ton of maintaince to stay running. No real model year that I'm partial too, I'd take pretty much anything.

Ideally:
A 1960s Beetle, fully restored, but still a daily driver.

Realistically:
Any Beetle that runs and look somewhat stock (but it doesn't have to be perfect). Including my Super, which I love to have. Very Happy

First thing's first, get that thing on the road and running right Smile

And...a few pics:

That's all I have that's updated, I'm kinda OCD about posting a picure of the car if I've done something to it since that picture. I'll get some more tomorrow, when it's light.

Haha, I used Rustoleum, just a red spray can I found in the garage. I had primer there and just bare metal under it, so I didn't want it to rust. The paint wouldn't come out of the can evenly, hence the spottiness. Over the summer I'll have my friend help me and let me use his paint gun, just so the car can be shiney again. I won't bother with bodywork. It'll be Rustoleum Red, his '85 Mercedes and my car will match Laughing

Just the seats. They were so terrible when I got the car, that Dad and I (since I was only 11) re-did them within a year of buying it. The rest is just cleaned up original. It's all a little beat up but it cleaned up OK. I pulled the carpet out last winter and gave it a good cleaning, and used some spray paint to make it more black. Armor-all on the dash and door panels.

Not clean at all when I bought it. The seats were disgusting. The carpet was disgusting. The door panels were peeled back and disgusting. The headliner was disgusting...
