awesome car! the pre a dashs were often not painted the color of the rest of the car, this is often incorrectly painted on restored pre a's.......bumpers are played out on 356s,also if you get in a fender bender with bumpers the force often produces much more damage than a car with no bumpers and results in the lower windshield cowl to kink because the chassis moved _________________ www.vintagemotorsportsor.com

C'mon...
The most amazing thing about that car is that someone left those T-bars on since 64!!! He must have pretty enamored with them. Lose the rears and turn the fronts into driving light holders.
Great car, congrats!! |

Those T-bars would have been in the Trash the first 5 minutes I owned that car. _________________ How to: Post Photos | Search

Took my car out for a drive yesturday to a local park. A guy came over and was checking my car over and talking about cars he has and had. Long story short, he offered me over double of what I paid for it. Very tempting, but I do love this car. _________________ '55 Porsche Continental |

Yea I thought about it. I'm gonna keep it. It took me years to get it, and the value will only go up. Now I'm kicking around the idea of selling my bug to get a split bug. _________________ '55 Porsche Continental |

Good for you!
This coupe looks SOOO much better than a speedster anyway..
IMHO you're doing the right thing, not restoring it to show condition, but driving and enjoying it. Have fun!! _________________ There's more to life than VW's..

X2. I've got a decent split for you if you're into restoring one. _________________ Kevin "Wiggy"

Maybe I should know this, but I don't. Are pre a and "a" bumper the same?I know there are holes for over riders. But in general, are they the same size? _________________ '55 Porsche Continental |

I've searched and searched...could anyone tell me where the hand throttle goes to. The cable was cut at the point where it comes out the tunnel. Does it connect about four inches past that where the gas pedal linkage is? I'm at a loss. _________________ '55 Porsche Continental |
