I'm glad you arranged these two in the correct order. Wouldn't want to add:

Shit, I'm installing a High Life dispenser - pops a cold can right out the radio hole!
Today I got the engine mostly put together, got a nice little cable pull thingy made for the roller pedal, Regulator wired up in the engine compartment, right rear tail/brake/turn signal working, installed hood latch, and promptly got the hood stuck shut. Luckily, the apron is rusted out, and I was able to jack the front up and pop it open from underneath. Then I got it stuck again, got mad and left.
Band practice tomorrow, so no bug workin'. _________________ Copyright 2012-apocalypse, CJ Industries, Inc.

Not yet...
Finished this and brought it out to the shop today, though:
Freshly rebuilt 1600 courtesy of B&C, H30/31, 010, Rebuildable fuel pimp, Bitchin' gold tin.
Got some glass in the doors, hood latch sorted out, shift & steering coupler safety wired, gas tank cleaned out and ready, engine compartment seals in and electrical done.
Might get the gold powerplant in tomorrow, then I can adjust the suspension and do the brakes and alignment.
Then it's burnout in the local VFW parking lot time! _________________ Copyright 2012-apocalypse, CJ Industries, Inc.

Big day today. Ground out the bellhousing and got the gooooold engine in. It was a pain in the ass, too - the back had been hit and stuff was bent back there. I had to hack a bit of the right inner fender to clear the valve cover. But, with the help of my buddy Daniel, we wrestled it in there. Note Autozone redneck turn-downs:
Fuel line/filter detail:
Reg-a-lator and wiring detail:
Daniel also helped me get all the glass in. No hill for a pair of steppers like us. Then was my favorite part: With the engine sitting in there, I did some measuring and dropped the rear down to super-dooper pimp height:
The fuel, and some delicious camber:
Now on to the more piddly stuff. Finish left rear quarter and install fender and lights, finish some engine bits, front and rear alignment, axle nut torquin' and trans fillin', beam greasin', running boards, rear decklid, rear bumper, e-brake cable hookup, fill and bleed brakes, etc. I also got some snazzy turquoise blankets for the seats.
Easy, ladies. You'll all get a turn. _________________ Copyright 2012-apocalypse, CJ Industries, Inc.

Thanks!
That goooold tin came on an old parts engine I had. I decided it fit with the theme. Some teenage kid back in the early nineties thought it was pretty rad, I bet.
Today I got a few interior bits screwed on, Front end centered and aligned (the best I could with a few squares and a tape measure), and the supports for the decklid in. Brakes are next... _________________ Copyright 2012-apocalypse, CJ Industries, Inc.

Valve cover on! Had to do a bit more bending.
Also:
-parking brake cables hooked up
-brakes bled (I think)
-fresh air and pre-heat tubes installed
-engine electrical done
-gas tank in
Might try to cruise it around the lot tomorrow.
I also tried to install a crap-ass Mexican running board - looks like shit and I couldn't even close the door.
Garner thought it was real fucking funny. _________________ Copyright 2012-apocalypse, CJ Industries, Inc.

Alright then.
Rolled it outside today to re-arrange the cars in the BTC shop. Got the trans filled, axle nuts torqued, seats in, gas tank hooked up. Tried to get it started but after screwing around for an hour and draining two batteries, I decided that my snazzy fuel pump wasn't working. I'll probably just grab a new pump tommorrow @ the local VW shoppe.
Still have to mess with the left rear quarter panel & fender, running boards, decklid and rear bumper...and maybe polish the damn thing up a bit. It still has a heavy layer of shop skank on it. _________________ Copyright 2012-apocalypse, CJ Industries, Inc.

Thanks folks!
The beam is 4" narrowed, sway away adjusters, built by yours truly.
icekoffee - June bug is the goal. Whether it makes it or not is debatable.
BTC is my friend Garner's shop. Stands for "Beaver Trap Customs". He is graciously donating shop space, expertise, heckling, and tools.
So today's report: Looked at the fuel pump...I hooked the freakin' lines up back-ards! Got them switched around, and it ran for a minute and immediately flooded. Took the top off the carb, and the float was stuck down. Got that sorted out, fired it up, got it to idle, and threw the timing light on it. So far, so good.
Went to take it for a spin, and the brand new (reman) starter gave up. Wouldn't even click. We tried to bump start it so we could cruise it around a bit, but it wouldn't hold an idle. So that was it for today.
I'll go exchange starters and give it another go tomorrow after work. _________________ Copyright 2012-apocalypse, CJ Industries, Inc.
