Wheels are 17x7 in the front and 18 x 10 rear. I believe they have a 35 mm off set on rear. Wish I would went a little bigger on back though. Thanks guys for all the kind words. Can't wait to see how it handles. Now if I could just get my brother in law to follow through on his commitment to build my dad and my roll cage

Thanks man. Just got it running. Need to adjust the shift rod so that I can find first gear and then I'm off and running. Hopefully I can get this roll cage built soon also.

My brother in law is going to do my roll cage and he is in no hurry. I'm thinking of buying all the material and just showing up over there. I first need a bumper to mount my plate too

My manxter inspried bumper. After powdercoating, I will put a chrome piece with "777" cut out over the flat stock.

I figured it was time to update my own build thread.
This is what she looked like "finish," we all know that word never has any truth.
Still gotta switch over to some lights that do my buggy justice.
Out with the old
In with the new. 002 tranny and Subaru ej25
All the modifications begin.
Supporting the extra weight
First shot at engine support/ tranny mount

Test fit
Wasn't happy with heights. Had to lower it back down
Decided on a solution to radiator placement
Had to cut a hole for air flow to get to the radiator
Fabbed a grill to make it solid
Perfect size radiator 12x24 for a corrado. Had do grind off some tabs
Decided to reverse the intake manifold
Test fitting fans
Imi high torque starter
Didn't really plan for it space wise when creating my supports. Barely fit. Glad it did.

Radiator got its second fan
Most expensive piece of the puzzle. Even more than the engine
In place
Lowering the rear back down
Gabbed up an alternator bracket based on out front motorsports design. Cost me $16 instead of the $60 they charge.
Trying to work out throttle issue
Not retracting on its own. To much drag on the cable. Still gotta get this one figured out
Reverse water outlet
Got some rimary tubes from the junker on half off day. Need modifying.
After almost two damn months this company finally managed to get the scoop to me. This is the plan to get air to the radiator. Will eventually get a 4" carbon fiber one. This will work for now.
I was worried with the air flow but it looks like the air will flow over the windshield and into the scoop nicely.

I have been following your build for a long time. In fact your is what gave me the idea to to use large wheels. How much did you have your Buggy lowered when you had the VW Engine in it? That way I can make a educated guess about mine. I have 18" in the rear and 16" for the front. _________________ Am I ever going to finish this damn thing? |

Think I had the spring plates at about 15 degrees. Not quite sure. I have since lifted it since the Subi motor is heavier. I put adjustable spring plates on it but have not been able to get the ride height right yet. To be honest the first time I lowered it, I think I just got lucky. Sorry that probably didn't help much.
