Hi,
Does any body knows the dates for the 2011 VW Classic in LA. Must be around may-june but I need the exact dates to book my flight.
I had a look at www.bugorama.com but it looks like the website hasn't been updated for a while.
If you have some good hotel to stay near by, I am interested too.
Cheers

| Thanks EverettB. I am coming from UK especially to see the show. I would like to book my flight as soon as I know the date. (how far in advance is the exact date published) Does anyone have any advice about good places to stay nearby. I won’t have any transport as I can’t bring my 1960 Split Screen on the plane so somewhere reasonably local will be good. |

I'll keep my eye on this thread for a heads up on the date too. I'm also hoping to head out for the 2011 Classic as next year is a "significant birthday" year for me and I've promised myself the trip - but I hope it lands in line with school holiday's so we can mak it a family trip.

Southwest Airlines has their schedule posted for June now. Great ticket prices and bags are free for all those "little treasures" you bring back.
My son Paul and I are already booked!

I will make it once again. Thanks to the Ink-n-Iron tattoo convention. We were there last year and it's truly the VW Mecca. I should have some newbies tagging along. I'd love to bring the tattoo panel, but I don't have time to drive cross country.
Anyone want to get tattooed that weekend by a fellow VW guy? I'll be at Long Beach on the Queen Mary for the tattoo show. Plenty of time on Fri & Sat.
PM me if you're interested. _________________ Hellbound, via the scenic route. |

For now just plan on being around the LA/Orange county area the week before. Check out last years Classic thread on the Samba to get a general idea of what to expect. _________________ The best thing that anyone can do for their Bay is get the Volkswagen of America Official Service Manual published by Robert Bentley. Absolutely! They were woefully unprepared in that department.
Hopefully they will improve the entry system as well. We were swapping and were told we had to be in the general line while others were allowed to bypass everyone and go through the vendor entry. We still got in and did pretty well, but it was bad signage and execution on their part. The guys trying to direct everyone weren't to blame, I think they were just overwhelmed. Lack of accurate signage was the major problem I think. _________________ www.AircoolersAttic.com |

| I'm driving out from PA this year. Are there any camp outs before the octo or classic either at the gate, show area or local campground? |
