|
|
Now I know its been covered many times, and I dont need instructions, Just thought owners and members may want to share some photos of there event.
I have not been able to find a dedicated photo post using the search, of the "Marriage" of the Beetle body to the pan. That's the term VW used for the assembly of the body to its pan/frame from what I had read. I will be getting our latest project back from the body shop and I will be "divorcing" the body from its current "body shop only" spine, and "remarrying" it back to its original pan. I of course plan to shot a few pictures in the process, and was thinking about posting them but couldn't find a match or link to such. Not body off or body on process dedicated photo post either.
If there is such a thread pleast point me in the right direction.
If there is not a post of members "Body to Pan Marriage" or "Temporary Seperation" photos, lets start one here. _________________ aka Ken {o\!/o}

Here's last nights marriage of our latest new/old project. 1967 Beetle.
I was busy making sure everything lined up and the final sequence photos were missed.
Body off of "Body Shop" Frame
"Body Shop" frame and reconditioned original
Down and remarried. A happy reuniting.

Thanks but, its not mine. Im a GM TECH and have been working at that facility a long time and have earned the privelage to use it when needed for personal use after business hours. Comes in real handy for sure.
Normally I just do it outside my cellar garage, but I picked up the body and had it at work, figured it was a good idea. Im not sure Ill ever go back to the rope and pulley. A lift makes the world of difference. Ill have a lift at home some day....outside on a concrete pad. _________________ aka Ken {o\!/o}

Here's the split from so long ago. Marriage is coming up real soon, I hope. Things have changed so much from those pictures. |

These look like my normal "temporary seperation" "divorce" or "marriage". Nothing like doing it in your back yard, and freeking the nosey neighbors out. Thankfully, my home is is an area surrounded by trees. My neighbor came through the woods to talk about a 2 months ago while I was getting the (67 above) body loaded on "body shop frame" I noticed he was looking around in the middle of our normal B.S. conversation and he said "How many Volkswagens do you have?" I told him "Never enough". At that particular time it looked like a 60's drive in movie was bombed.
These pictures are great, how about adding/editing the year models of the cars. _________________ aka Ken {o\!/o}
