Ive taken the parts off the carbs. Those diaphragms were like deep fried chips. I’m not expecting a miracle on a fuel pump that's sat in a field since 89 here in South Texas Laughing

This is a place where all the gas evaporates out of the tank, no spoiled gas. The bodies stay reust free and everything else turns crisp.

Even if the fuel pump were plyable-Id still get a replacement. Wink

Very nice. I love late hardtop campers. Autos aren't my deal, but I like the bus. Any bay saved and all that.

Nice,

Good paint job it will look really nice.

Funny seeing it, mines an auto 75 with same interior (my curtains are green though) and I've got a pop top but had less units inside. I think the auto is absolutely brilliant, actually an audi unit (well mine is anyway, got the logo spattered all over it).

The plastic strip on the sliding door threshold are like gold dust so don't ruin it when it comes out, you can't replace them. i wanted to but I've given up trying for now if I'm honest.

Someone mentioned door cards, both mine are green and I won't be using them once I've got my replacements done. There have been speakers installed in them though (by PO).

I took the carbs off for a clean and rebuild. Im awaiting the rebuild kits but thought Id share the goings on. They are very clean all original carbs. Nothing missing just old and dirty. Not much use out of them and help suporting the 50k mi on the clock. I cant wait to fire the motor up!

running rough - its a temp fix. calls are out. Still got a drip. Its gonna be a spring time fix as she'll sleep through the winter under a busdepot cover (the cover fits well even over front nose tire and poptop!)

I'll keep an eye on the tread and I sent you a PM with some details.

Where did you get your carb kits from? I am looking to rebuild my Solex as well and take the whole system back to stock. I just got a a hand full of parts in the mail and have everything I need. Are you going back to a stock engine set-up? I'll take pics of the parts when I get a chance.

Yes this bus is going back to stock or atleast very close. I will be removing the smog pump and close off that circut. Im not sure what Ill do about the central ideler yet. The fact that as stock carbs having all these tubes on them looks very daunting, but they are actualy fairly simple once you learn.

Ive got some CB Performance kits ordered. Im calling them today to see whats up. Its been awile.

I forgot that I had some pics of mine in the gallery...

This is second paint and mostly OG 'cept for the seat covers. It came with the rack and a very nice stock side tent.

So I went to pull the motor today and ran into an issue. Its an auto trans and dosent drop like a manual.

I pulled the 4 motor nuts-bolts, undid the hanger and tried to pull it out but no-go. I need to take the two top tans hanger bolts out Evil or Very Mad

So is there any special trick to this or am I ass out with a half pulled motor and two tranny bolts that are a pain in the ass to access and remove.

Advice? Muffler is still on.

the easiest way that i have found for mine is to leave the trans hanger bolts in. remove torque converter bolts .double nut lower studs and back the studs out then you can go nearly straight down with the engine and trans you can take out later. the man trans guy might disagree but they dont have an autotrans

What he said, removing the coil and oil filler helps too.
