Diamond Green

I have seen "diamond green" on a few cal-look cars in HotVW's.
What is this color from? Anybody know the code, or year/make of vehicle that had it? That's not an original VW color is it?

Fo sho' it's a real VW color, L412. April 1956 up to July 1957, from Chassis No. 1 173 573 up to 1 600 439. That info is out of VW's own parts list for the Type 1.

I think VW did a 'Back to the Future' thing in the mid 50's. I seen a couple of really sharp colors from that vintage. That when a popular American color scheme was pink and lavender.
