That looks great man I was just wondering the other day if you'd made progress on this since I last saw the thread...you've got it finished! How was the race? _________________ My '72 Super

thanK you!!
IT WAS EPIC!!
altogether it was about 1,700 miles for me, we finished the car litteraly days before and it didn't hicup once!
for the engine I got dual kadrons, deep sump oil pan, high velocity oil pump with external oil filter, finned aluminum valve covers, electronic ignition, and a new fuel pump. I also got a sway bar and KYB shocks as a gift from dad, the car is just amazing now!!
I'm so happy that its finally done, everybody loves it to! _________________ my bug build

Kyle
I'm only into the 1st few pages of this thread and stopping here, but had to sound off after reading chucks reply haha I got my own issues with a few of these so called vw gods, but the car looks great bro and when you spend alot of time and effort doing something.... you seem to appreciate it more or in a different way right,, thats something alot of people here lost or never had n never will have...
And if you think about a bit I love the fact you painted your bug in this manor I may try it out on my 73 this winter. This seems like a true volkswagen minded thing, you know how every ones always saying you can fix it your self or its easy to do this ect, ect, after all the car was designed for average people I have a friend in beerfeldon germany he paints his flatblack bug with a brush every 5 years or so and this sorta reminded me of him.. you seem like a cool person keep it that way... your car look great be proud.. Great work, dude. I'm planning on doing a Rustoleum paint job on my '74 in the summer. This thread has given me a lot of ideas on paying attention to detail (stripping down interior, etc). Also, that aftermarket ragtop is sweet. I'd love one of those. _________________ "Crow" 1974 Standard Beetle

| I have found that rustoleum seems to stay shiny longer if you brush or roll it on than if you spray it. Does anybody know why that is? Would it be because of the thinner I mix it with when spraying? |
