Hi there! As my ad in classified says...I'm searching for a pair of vintage rear Sand Blaster 913 tires by Western Auto (Davis)...
913's are smaller that 915's....They are 9.00 width 30' in height and are suitable for 13' rims...
I already got a pair of front JR's...so now I need these rear ones!!!
Please let me know if you have NOS or in good used condition...at a resonable price!
Maybe YOU riders...have some laying around in your hut...
Send me an email if you have.Hi resolution pics are welcome!
I should end my vintage vw baja bug project before the end of April...
So 913's should be mine for that time...!!!

Thanks!
Cheers!

Hi Tanner!

I also have an ad on race dezert...
I use to keep an eye on the classified there...but I didn't see any 913's ad...

I saw just one on craigs list two months ago...but it was about one tire and it was so worn...

And I found a pair as spare on ebay (sold together with a nice buggy) some weeks ago...I asked to the seller about them but he was so rude and was kidding me...wasting my time... Mad

Thanks!
Cheers!

I know this is a hard search...
And now more than the usual...due to the Mexican 1000...
I'd like to end my resto project before the end of April...
But I guess this will be a hard thing...

I know there are still many Sand Blaster tires aound California...Nevada...Colorado...and other places...
So folks...let me know about them...

Thanks!
Cheers

just a thought, might work until you find a set of the real deals......

post some pics of your car if you don't mind....

Be careful. These tires were in a shed (no UV) for 10 years before I bought them. They were very cracked and needed a tube to hold air.

Hi!These are front JR's...
What about the rims? Are they original genuine white star Jackman ones?
(Maybe I could be interested into the front white Jackman's if they are...)

Do you have any rear 913's to sell me???

Thanks!

Cheers

Hi mate...thanks...but maybe you don't understand what I mean...
Sand Blaster tire by Western Auto/Davis....from 70's and 80's are the real deal....the only ones...I'm talking about vintage tires....they are not on the market anymore since 80`s....

So...Folks...come on...

Sand Blaster 913...I know you are somewhere....hidden in the shade in a hut...
Thanks!
Cheers

In the '70's and into the '80s, myself and friends with baja's ran Gates Commandos up front, Armstrong Norsemans out back... always on Jackmans. I understand these are not your tire of choice, but they would be an "ancient warrior" appropriate option for you if your search for the SB's doesn't pan out. Just a thought.

Hi Dave!Thanks for the hint...
But I know about Gates XT Sand Command...:they are too heavy and big for my baja bug...Actually Sand Blaster 915 (32x10.20x15) are also too big...
I don't know about the Armstrong Norsemans...but I'm a lover of Sand Blaster...I'm crazy for them...They are the only ones for me... Cool
And I clearly stated that I'm searching for them only...in particular the 913's that will fit my baja bug due to smaller then 915's....
So...just SAND BLASTER tires by Western Auto/Davis...Forever!!! Very Happy

Anyway thanks for your time! Wink
And..great respect for you...you are a vintage racer who run through the desert in those marvellous years...!!!

So Folks...come one...I know you have a pair of 913's for me... Cool

Cheers!

I have no idea what wheels these are, but I would be happy to look. I am by no means atatched to them and if you really want them I would need enough to buy new rims + mount and balance fee.

Sorry, no rear tires.

Hi!If genuine Jackman...you should be able to see a "J" logo embossed on one of the star arms...
I could be interested into the fronts only...and they could be 3.5' or 4' or 4.5' width not more...
A pair of Jackman like these have a value of few bucks...around 60/80usd for the pair...so I don't believe that 60/80usd would be enought for you to replace them with new ones...
Anyway thanks for your time!

Cheers!

Are the tires you're looking for look like these?

http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/off-road.php?item=BajaPro

With persistence you may have some luck finding them. I'll bet someone has some sitting in a shed.....that they forgot about!

Keep an eye out on Craigslist....a good resource.

Hi!Yeah "Baja pro" are similar in tread...Same rounded edge but different pattern.....Actually they remind more the JR's as the front Minimag's...

I talked about these on my old sand blaster 915 thread...now closed...
I clearly stated that I don't need modern Mickey Thompson or vintage Gates...

About Craigslists...I use to keep an eye on it...but it is sooo hard to buy there due to I'm from Italy...and sellers are afraid to ship overseas..or they don't have a paypal account...

The only pair of front Sand Blaster JR I own is thanks to thesamba classified...I got in 2009 ...Seller was a nice and serious person and sold them for a very cheap price: 35usd each..!!!

Thanks for all Mates...!!!

I know YOU have some 913's in your hut...sitting in a shed...hidden in the shade....so please remember this...and sell them to me!!! Dancing

Come on Folks...come on!!! Wink

Cheers!

Laughing You are like a frikken' hammer. Persistance pays off. I've eventually found most of my unobtainium through patience (along with persistance and some hammering). Wink
