Hey Porsche Fans I'm in the middle of trying to install new grease & seals in my early rack. I say early as it appears to be; the date stamp in casting of housing looks to be 52/64 which means 1965-66 model year of car. I need information& diagrams of how the factory likes things done. I know this will make some folks mad but I plan on using this unit in my old type3 if possible? I have another question with regards to steering damper, there is a bracket for one or I think so. please tell about this also.
where can i find info on this please post me a link or to buy a book that tells all about rack& pinion over haul on early 1960's 911's |

On pelicanparts.com there is a link that will bring you to the Porsche web site and to a parts directory with diagrams. Hope this helps. _________________ 67 Bug w/2110

Yeah been there but did not find the view of the rack other than in parts diagram & it was all together. that means to me Porsche does not sell parts for rack ? I need the overhaul procedures of it; I know where parts go, as I have not taken it apart. I may just go with it & flush out old grease & replace with CV grease I guess? & then work back & forth until the greaqse is worked about & just button it up. I can see just one seal & one gasket? |
