I should have had 5 today but the foundry got backed up on some hot jobs that pay the bills so it will be next week I hope. As soon as I get a set I`m going to send them to ronnie splitpile to check out and test and make sure theres no problems. All I have is a engine on a stand for my bus but need to check the fit for a bug. Hope to send a pair to him next week.

Well three weeks and 5 new valve covers giving me three sets counting the first one. They still need to be cleaned up drill & spot faced and alittle polishing to get them just right. But if all goes well I hope to have a set off to splitpile to test this week. So heres a few new pictures of the Madness.

you are oh so awassom. they look great. you could also alodine some in the raw unpolished form too.and even the polished to keep corosion down.I do mine and havent had any corosion on any thing I have done.I get mine from west marine .com they dont have it in the store.well not the one hear.just read up on it before you try if you do. there is also a clear alodine out now . but dont let any steel in the alodine unless you want the parts blue instead of gold.and dont get any on you.I clear coat all of mine for shine. I dont have a trayler queen and it is outside all of the time and & live on the coast where aluminum dosent doo to well.

Well I hope this isn`t getting old. But (Ga.002)valve covers will be in the mail tomorrow to splitpile. I had to really work these last few valve cover to make them work and don`t really like the the weight at all 1 1/2 lbs. each. All this has been done to make the foundry happy not saying there bad just some off the wall shit that they really don`t need. So with everything not as I would like I`m starting over agian with a new master pattern working on it now will have zeus on the outside and be much lighter. And I`m hoping to pour them right here at home (backyard foundry) no more three weeks to see what I have and if it`s going to work. If all goes well I`ll make other cool parts with time.

And Mark if I get down that way I`ll have lunch with you for sure.

Shipping to Az. splitpile. PS.(bolts are grade B7 4140)in the box.

This is what I`ve been working on for the last couple of weeks. Its a homemade foundry furnace so I can melt and pour the covers and anythink else I can dream up. This way I can pour check the fit make any adjustments all in the same day without the long wait. This furnace can also melt brass so the door is open as far what to make non VW or VW.
Ronnie has two valve covers but hasen`t had time to test them yet which is fine those will go to the R&D pile and a new and light pattern will be made. So the furnace is about 95% finished refractory poured still need to mount the burner mix up the sand and away I go. Heres alook at the furnace.

Sorry for the late reply, but we've been really busy at the shop so here's a quicky.

I received the valve covers and was very impressed with them. I went to test fit on my Okrassa and they fit really nice. Had a promblem with the thickess of the lip on top clearing the tin but think I might have that worked out.

I have a breather at the shop tomorrow to do some more fitting and photo's
and to use all the mounting hardware I got with the covers.

More Monday

OH so sweet I am about to cry!!! aluminum door hindges, intake risiors, rockerarms, U B GOOD. hmm with the heat will those 2 top screws be enough?if your arms were a few inches longer they could of bolted there and then bent down the side for the other 2 screws. you dont need any thing comming loose when it is hot& in motion. keep up the perfect work.

Fitted the Zeus 36 hp valve cover today and am very pleased with them. After I overcame the tight tin issue I got them to slip on and off easily.
You can see in the pic how I bent the cylinder tin. This will be straightened out

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

I decided to use threaded blocks instead of the supplied studs to make sure the rockers and/or valve covers doesn't come loose. So nice to finally knw these will be available and I'm ready for some more sets.
Awesome work, WELL worth the wait

Talked with Ronnie tonight to see how the fit was and he said once he got the bolts cut to the right length they fit like a glove. Never meet Ronnie in person but he`s one of those guys you could talk to for hours and his now how and do it with VW`s just leave me felling dumb great guy. I still needed to make a few changes to the pattern just to make it easyer on me and hope to pour some in the next couple of weeks.

Heres the burner doing it`s thing. (great how you can find everything you need to know on the web)

Reid badass propane burner.
