|
|
Hi everyone, I pulled the whole d-jetronic system from a porsche 914 1976 model.
Anyways, I got a plug that went into a box and here I assume a couple things. I think this plug is to control the fuel pump via the relay, to give power to the ECM and to control the ignigion coil.
The problem is I don't know which wire does what.
Has anyone reversed engineered this to run standalone from the original design purpose?
If so please send me whatever you might have put together to do this.
Thanks
Joe |

The 914 '76 (US-model) had L-jet as far as I know, right?

I may be mistaken, but I think all '76's were 2 litre, and in that case all 2 litre cars were D-jet. Yes/no?

Yes, all '76s were 2.0L. Don't know about the D-jet part as my 914 stuff is packed away. _________________ '09 Eos Komfort ... '97 Vento GT ... '02 Golf GLS TDI

Wiki suggests the 2.0L engines were all L-Jet. I have no knowledge myself. |

| As far as I know there were no L-jet injected 2.0's. Ray |

Perhaps I read between the lines too far. Here is what is claimed:
"Slow sales and rising costs prompted Porsche to discontinue the 914/6 variant in 1972 after producing 3,351 of them; its place in the lineup was filled by a variant powered by a new 95 hp (71 kW) 2.0 L, fuel-injected version of Volkswagen's Type 4 engine in 1973. For 1974, the 1.7 L engine was replaced by a 76 hp (57 kW) 1.8 L, and the new Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection system was added to American units to help with emissions control. 914 production ended in 1976"
So what was used on the 2.0L engines, still D-jet? |

Ray is right, the L-jet was only for the 1.8.
Pls see http://www.pelicanparts.com/914/How_to_buy_a_914.htm
