I am putting wheels on it for moving under load and for vibration control. Also I made a special tarp for temporary outdoor storage. I plan to use it for about 1 month straight and then tear it down for storage.

Your request is my demand.

Did you actually find that before the brace was installed the plate and "build" actually flexed?

Well not exactly. I knew it was tilting downwards by about 2 degrees. If the engine had any weight at all it would tilt even more. So I used the lower brace as a way to give it a positive 2 degree tilt and to satisfy your recommendation. (two cats with one BB gun) - Those "I told you so" 's are sometimes hard to swallow.

Wiring it up tonight. Made a simple control box with an E-Stop switch which will kill both Positive and Negative so it works with fuel pump and power to coil. Big idiot light. PSI gauge will mount elsewhere. Made a schematic and a vinyl sticker to label the front.

OK this is what I got. I fired the engine and the test stand at the same time on video. Few probs, crack in oil pump cover due to overtightend fitting, and loose belt. More to come. Gonna check oberg and get close to the pump cover crack.

Now after about 1 hour of wild ass running, I checked the oberg. WOW. Lots of lint but no large chunks. I didnt find any recogizeable parts so I cleaned it and put it back together. Thank Jesus for oberg. Now the pump cover is a different story. I may reconfigure the whole thing. I have another pump, single outlet and a bugpak releif valve oil return adapter. Gotta get back to work.

If you are asking me, then I say no. It looks like 1,4,3,2 which is right. His dist drive gear is turned about 2 teeth CCW more than mine. I like my wires to point left and right like parting your hair in the middle. Its a personal preference. I used to put the drive gear in to make condeser point to front so I could service it. I could be wrong.

I recently completed building an Engine Run In Stand based on plans from Mark Harney. (Use the search function to find a copy of the plans for yourself) Inexpensive and easy to build. I've had a chance to use it a couple of times now and I'm really happy with it. I made two changes to the design to fit my purposes:

1. I shortened the height so that I could use my floor jack the raise the engine and mount to it the stand.

2. I added a gauge /control panel with a small tool tray.

Hats off to Mark Harney for a great design!

I had to work all weekend so I decided to do something for myself for
Christmas. Started with a harbor freight 1000lb engine stand, and converted it to a assemble/run stand. I still need to notch it for a starter and might have to notch it for the headers. I'll have to unbolt and rebolt the 002 bell housing, but its a small price when space in the garage is a premium.

To Oldbugr.... YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is exactly how to do it (and in my plan to do mine) .... Now all you need is a "run panel" to plug into top hole during tests...
