it's a cool bus and i've always enjoyed seeing it in person. i've ridden in and driven a couple buses that john has built. i know they ran strong and handled well. i'd be curious to see if anyone who owns a hebmuller or split vert thinks that bus would be a trade worth having to cough up cash extra for. besides i see the lowered bus crowd as a different breed all together from the heb/split vert peeps.
curious and interesting but i don't see it happening. _________________ Extravagant Lifestyle

What other question could you ask to find out whether you might be able to afford to buy it or not? _________________

My translation from Google translate
Quote: |
Many of us wonder. As is the restoration of the Barndoor Samba 54, Jandro. Great work. It was easy to remove the paint. Hardly had. But they have needs lots of hours to allow the plate well .... Touch the bottom of the bus that also anger in Wax .... |
"It was easy to remove the paint. Hardly had."
Oh no! I agree it hardly had any paint on it though. _________________ How to Post Photos

the lack of paint and the story it told was what made that bus unique and identifiable as the "tom-tom 23". now it's just another barndoor deluxe. _________________ Extravagant Lifestyle

Here is a better translation, as this is in "Castellano", not Spanish.
BTW - those internet translators SUCK!!
" Lots of people ask how Alejandro's 54 Samba resto is coming along? It's a major job. The easiest part was the removal of the paint. It hardly had any. But many hours were spent on leaving the under carriage nice. The worst part of the bus was covered in wax? "
The last sentence wasn't too clear, as an Englishman wrote this. |

They say "wax" as Sealing wax red, so the bus won't be painted Chesnut brown/ "wax red" ... _________________ '61 Westfalia So23

Vale hombre! Es que el Pirata del Martin lo escribio. Ademas, yo no hablo muy bien el Castellano, solamente el Catalā y Vasco (Como mi amiguete el Rocco) |
