went out to buffalo creek (80425) this past weekend, the bus did great on those back "roads"... not sure i want to lower it now... Confused

It is beautiful out there though. (it is in the middle of nowhere) I wish i had gotten parked somewhere a bit closer to the Gorge itself and had a view, but at least i had a companion, and was close enough to clearly hear the music.

We can't really get into the wilderness around here yet as it is all still buried in snow. However, I did manage to get another weekend of camping in this weekend. With all the high country shut down because of the snow, I ended up going to the Cedar Grove area of Kings Canyon NP. Friday night I disperse camped along the river...

but the it was like sleeping (or at least trying to sleep) next to a jet engine test facility that was doing a 24 hour engine test. So, Saturday, after a 9 mile hike up to Mist Falls (awesome conditions with all the runoff right now), I actually paid the $18 for a campsite. Here are a couple of shots on the way home.

The bus ran flawlessly and about 10 degrees cooler than it did on memorial weekend when I made the same trip )despite the fact that the ambient temps were higher and some bozo evidently forgot to put the clips back on the distributor cap) Embarassed

I met a guy with a '78 and had a great conversation with him. (Forgive me if you are reading this but I forgot your name). I find it amazing how many instant friends you have when you drive a bus Smile

but I like it!
