i should have another update tonight or tomorrow if i'm too tired. i decided to go for the wiring. the wires themselves are pretty good but they were tangled into a ball. I also added 6 more fuses to the system so the car wont burn to the ground in the future.

Pretty much got all of the wiring done. The only wiring left is the additional gauges and the glovebox radio.

Thanks. For now it's going to stay ratty. But as time goes on I wiil be doing body work on it and some patina'y looking paint. The plan is to one day have an all black bug whether it be shiny or slightly dull. I sure do get a lot of thumbs up tho when driving it around now. I've always had nice cars before, it's nice to have a car like this now, that I don't have to worry about scratches or people leaning up against it. It's fun to not have to worry and probly the most fun I've had with a car yet.

The very reason i probably will never respray my bug either, it looks clean but i can drive it around and park it. Some of my mates have bugs to die for but they actually have told me i am lucky as i dont have to worry about a scratch etc.

Thanks man!

Just a little update. I've been driving the Hell out of this thing the last couple weeks. Only ran into 2 problems. 1. The coil power wire fell off... I thought I ran out of gas! Easy fix, just crushed the connector a bit so it nice and tight on the terminal. 2. The throttle cable broke off at the pedal. I ended up turning the idle up and driving it home in 4th at 1000RPM LOL, ended up refusing the broken cable and making this little aluminum block the offset the cable on the pedal so its not pulled on an angle and it clamps the cable in the block. Works perfect but I think I'm going to put a pair of weaker return springs on the carbs.

Other then that, fun times as always. This little dual carb 1600sp just humms along and don't miss a beat (knocks on wood).

Sorry I haven't updated this in a while. I've just been driving the crap out of her and loving every second! Not much new with the car, just regular maintenance (oil changes, valve adjustment, lube, brake adjustment etc...)

My friend Ryan really wanted to do a small photo shoot of the car to add to his portfolio and I wasn't gonna say no! So we found this run down gas station and he snapped away.

Here is his facebook page, he takes a lot of car photos.

Enjoy.
