but the question is, how much did you pay for the truck, and then how much time, and money have you put into it? would you consider it worth it when you can buy the fully loaded raptor for 45k? |
I'm at about half what that raptor costs. Wrenching on the truck is all smiles for me, as well as knowing everything on the truck that I have done something to. *I do like the Raptors though!*
Cmiller, wheres the updates?! |

wow. i need to do a better job at following up.
I just dont understand why people would buy a purpose built truck, and then not use it for the purpose. thats like buying the worlds most luxurious 4x4, the Range Rover, and never ever using it for anything but the street.
btw, the new raptors are a full 4 door truck.
and, im not disputing your truck. its BA. id drive the hell outta. granted, if i had the place to do it. _________________ "In case I don't see you, good afternoon , good evening, and goodnight."

Sorry got called into work so I couldnt get pics. I agree Phil. Like people buy a ferrari yet it sits on their garge and never sees 100 miles. I understand they are pry lookin at resale value 20 years from now. But I would drive the balls out of the Ferrari.(I would a raptor too) ( the 6.2's are ba) _________________ Swing axle: Eating tires since 1938

Miller, thats exactly my point. my boss, for one of his jobs, restores race cars as a hobby for himself. he restores them. races them. sells them. does it over again. needless to say, this guy is LOADDDDDDDED.
his wife has a daily driver of a 2009 maserati grantourismo. he himself has a 65 of 90 special edition maser. a 2004 ferarri 550-575, and ive seen him race it. you know he drives it by looking at the scratches on the quarter panels. the curb marks on the wheels. too him, that car is like our camry lol. just another car. and thats the way it should be. _________________ "In case I don't see you, good afternoon , good evening, and goodnight."

he has two other jobs, one is engineer consultant. the other is an engineering firm which he owns. he has about 40 people working underneath him. he's a mechanical/aerospace engineer. and he loves his cars. I just wish i could get him into the off road scene hahaha.
and last i heard, he was thinking of selling his 550. _________________ "In case I don't see you, good afternoon , good evening, and goodnight."

yeah. im still running a swing axle i really, really, really want to convert over to 3x3 IRS. rear half roll cage. the works.
lucky for me, i got my dad who is IMO, and im not being a kiss ass-- one of the best metal fab guys ive seen who can help me do the jig work. and then i have the local buggy shop who happens to be my dads close friend since high school who lets me use his shop when its a job i cant get done at home. i get hooked up haha. _________________ "In case I don't see you, good afternoon , good evening, and goodnight."

Haha nice. Ill convert eventually. I got a question about swing axle. Ill drive it down the road and back and the tires will have no camber. when i comeback it will have like 15 degrees of camber. Then if I drive it agian it flattens out. Could it be the cheap coilovers? _________________ Swing axle: Eating tires since 1938

no. my car does the same. i run bilsteins. I think that it flattens out when your driving because the torque pulls it down. and then when you shut off and let it sit for awhile, the shocks just decompress again. also, im a big fella, and driver side of the car sits a bit lower then the passenger side. haha. _________________ "In case I don't see you, good afternoon , good evening, and goodnight."
