Thanks for bumping this topic. Some of my favorite builds are in this thread.
Have a question for some of the Japanese posters. Well, two actually.
1. I see this guy on Pixiv (fanart site) who always draws pictures of his pretty ragged looking blue Super Beetle. Has the big tail lights. Was wondering if you've guys ever seen it around?
2. I enjoy the show Kamen Rider, and I've noticed a lot of VW stuff in recent ones. In A to Z movie, a kid has a VW Bus shirt on. In the Skull movie, he drives a very sweet forest green Karmann Ghia convertible. And in the OOOs series, Dr. Maki drives a light blue VW Beetle, I don't know what year. Can you guys fill me in on who the VW lover on staff is? |

so i might be retiring in japan next year. i'll be taking my bus there.
anyone know if there are some reasonable priced vw shops there, machine shops, engine and transmission builders, welders?
i went to one shop when i was there in 2007 and they charged triple the price for a c/w 69mm crank. |

What part of Japan are you going to?
Nothing is reasonably priced.
Hit up buslife (Go) He should be able to help you out, he does a lot of great work out there.
I think he is in the Yokohama area _________________ Click to view image |
