Dude, this is like reality tv......I hate it but I have to see whats going to happen next!!!

You all should be so fortunate that the southwest is litered with clean VW's. Im originly from Phoenix and would kill to have a door to knock on to inquire about a bug. Stuck in South Texas and it just doesnt happen here............for God's sake, somebody knock or I will call my mom a few miles away and have her inquire! LOL!!!! Seriously just go inquire already!

Ive been a lurking member since 07 and this actually made me post my first post....lol!!!!!

It is rather doubtful that I would leave th cool hi country to check it out.
At 114 today I start to melt at 95 degrees.

Wow, I leave to Denver for the weekend and none of you ninnies have knocked on that door yet? We knock on doors all the time just to ask to skate people's empty pools and I've never had a gun pulled on me for that. Balls people!! Laughing

I'm not allowed to get any more bugs but I know some cats that are. I'm curious to see what comes of this!

I will not be going crosstown to look at this one, just not interested.

But I did knock on the door out-of-town and am now first choice for a Convertible when the owner decides to sell it.

I went knocked on a guys door where I live (close to Macon, GA) because I was really wanting to a '66 or later model. And this guy had a non-restored '66 Beetle under an awning in his back yard. It didn't look like it was being fiddled with or put to much use. Me and my dad stopped by one day and we looked at it and it had some things missing, pretty dusty and unused for several years with boxes in the seats with old parts and accessories but the owner wasn't home though. You don't see many pre-68 model VWs around here sitting with no one wanting them. I guess since cars get rusty so quick here in the south old collectible cars are hard to come by cheap. So I stopped by about a month later and he was there and he was an older gentleman (looked to be the original owner) and I introduced myself and asked "I saw your Volkswagen in the back.." and his immediate response was "Sorry it's not for sale." and I thanked him and went on my way.
